Here are three page layouts that are quick and simple. You can add more embellishments if you like, but I like to start out with a simple layout and add as I go on. I’ve seen some page layouts that are very busy and I think they take away from the picture. I think that your pictures tell the story. Your journaling and your title enhance your work. The embellishments you add are just to make it look pretty. Don’t over do it. Start out with one or two stickers, or stamps, or buttons. Then, if you feel the page is still to plain, add a little more.

One of the most important things you need to scrapbook is your paper supply. Without paper, you can’t scrapbook. There are many types of paper out there, but one of the most important types is your card stock. This type of paper is very sturdy all most like poster board, but pretty. It is used as the back ground of your scrapbooking layout. On it you will tape your pretty printed paper, your photos, journaling, and your titles. Card stock come is a variety of colors and textures.
You can now buy individual sheets of paper or packs of paper at your local crafting store. Most paper companies now sell printed pattern paper that coordinates well with each other. For a fast page layout, choose paper form the same company so that you can cut down on your color matching time. Remember when choosing your color scheme look at the pictures you want to scrapbook and see what colors are in your foto.

Printed paper makes a difference
I was at Tall Mouse today, and guess what I found? They had their small clear stamps and blocks on sale for $1.00 this week. So I bought some. Then I went to Michael’s and they too were having a clear stamps sale for their mini clear stamps for a $1.00 also. So I bought some more. They had Easter, Christmas, Spring and Valentine stamps. I especially liked their says stamps. My writing is so sloppy that I am always looking for ways to add words to my scrpabooking without using my own printing. Check out their sale!
Last month I rediscovered stamps. When I first started scrapbooking I tried adding stampings to my page, but I soon discovered that stamping was not easy. You needed to be very careful when adding ink to your stamp or you would get an unwanted frame around your picture. Plus you had to make sure you set the rubber stamp down correctly on the spot you wanted it or your stamping would end up crooked on your layout page. I was not happy with the results, until I discovered clear rubber stamps.
Wow what a difference! These clear stamps are fun and easy to use. With the clear rubber stamps you can see where you are laying the stamping down on your page. Plus, I learned that you don’t need to use an ink pad. Now they have ink pens that you can use to trace the outline of the rubber stamp.
Now that I have rediscovered clear stamps, I think I’ll use them to add more pizzazz to my page.
There are many different types of embellishments you can add to your pages. You can add beads, plastic flowers, fabric, lace, or my favorite stickers. I like using stickers because they are easy to get, very colorful and make your pages pop! Every theme that you can think of, you can find stickers for. If you want to make a quick scrapbook page that has a wow effect, without all the work, add stickers. Now that I have three kids, making scrapbook pages is not something I can sped too much time with. So the quicker I can finish a page layout the better.
You can also use glitter, but the glitter will ruin your photos. If you plan to use glitter, make sure you don’t use your original pictures. Use copies.
Hello World Welcome to Scrapbooking with Me! I have been scrapbooking now for about 10 years. Since my first son was born. Once all those photos started to pile up, I decided it was a good idea to do something with them instead of putting them all in a box. At first I did not know where to start, but then I learned that all I needed to get started was an album, my photos some acid free and lignin free photo tape, a paper cutter, to crop your pictures.
You should first decide what theme your book is going to have. Who is the book for? What is the purpose of your book? Is it going to be a gift? Is it going to be a record of your family? For me it was easy, I was making a baby boy book to keep all my new addition to our family photos.
If you’re not sure what the purpose of your book is going to be, it might help to start by think of a title for your book, “My Summer Vacation” or “Matt’s Birthday” or “Ruby’s First Year.”
Now that you have an idea of what your book is going to be about, sit down and order your pictures. Decide which pictures you want to put together on each page. Study your pictures. Do you need to crop your pictures down so that they fit on the page? Can you get rid of anything on the picture that is just static on the photo?
After you have decided on the picture it’s time to pick your color scheme. What colors do you want to use? Try to stay with colors that coordinate. Contrasting colors make it had on the eye to focus. You might want to look at the pictures on the page and see if there are any colors that you would like your paper to match.
Now it’s time to put it all together. You don’t always need to frame all the pictures on your page. If there are three or four photos you may chose to make one stand out more than the others. That is the one you want to frame.
